The successful release of SamuraiRising has demonstrated the RisingSun team’s ability to deliver a fully-fledged play-to-earn ecosystem. While SamuraiRising will see constant improvement, development has already begun on a much larger game: Rise of the Shogun.
Rise of the Shogun will coexist and synergize with SamuraiRising as a part of RisingSun’s growing ecosystem. In Rise of the Shogun, a civil war is ravaging the feudal lands of Japan. Players compete for resources, honour and glory with the ultimate aim of becoming a Shogun: one of Japan’s powerful military leaders during much of its bloody history.
The release of Rise of the Shogun, heavily inspired by Magic the Gathering and Hearthstone, will be a watershed moment for play-to-earn gaming on Binance Smart Chain. Focused on player choice and strategy, Rise of the Shogun will introduce an array of new features while overlapping significantly with SamuraiRising and Land NFTs. As a result, SamuraiRising NFTs will be playable on Rise of the Shogun.
To play Rise of the Shogun, players need to convert an existing SamuraiRising battle card to a Daimyo: one of Japan’s feudal lords. The battle card’s rarity and power will impact the strength and abilities of the Daimyo. This Daimyo becomes the leader of the player’s army of battle cards and goes head to head with opposing Daimyos.
In addition to giving players a new way to earn $INF, Rise of the Shogun will introduce a new Prestige and Experience system that fundamentally changes the RisingSun ecosystem. The Daimyo class acts as the player’s ‘hero’, gaining experience and levels through gameplay. Player choice will play a fundamental role in determining the effects of a Daimyo in battle.
Daimyo cards are just one of four new classes of cards being introduced for Rise of the Shogun. In addition to the Daimyo class, we will introduce the Daishi (Monks), Kyūdōka (Archers) and Shinobi (Ninja) classes. Each of these new classes will have specific powers and gameplay strategies tied to them. All new classes originate from second-generation Samurai cards. The rarity tier of Samurai cards has a strong influence on the strength and abilities of new classes.
